March 2015/ Horse Muck and twenty Fruit Trees!

  Armed with eight bags of horse muck, a ruck of tools and twenty fruit trees Stone in Bloom volunteers headed for the amphitheatre with the intention of planting and creating a small orchard. The moles had been hard at work and there were mounds of quality soil dotted about everywhere and this lulled us all into a false sense of security that it was going to be an easy dig. Wild about Wild Flowers

When we sowed the wild flower seeds with Peter Jones and the rest of the group we couldn't have imagined how successful and beautiful they were going to be. From the initial reaction of complaints about dead patches of yellow turf,  the transformation to hundreds of wild flowers is perfect. The wild flowers can be seen at the Aston roundabout, Whitebridge estate bridge and St Michaels Church.
